In a year marked by the continuation of the Arab Spring and the enhancement of freedom of expression through social media, the world has reason to celebrate International Human Rights Day. In the Philippines over the weekend, the Armed Forces of the Philippines marked the event by formally turning over to the Commission on Human Rights all the declassified AFP records on martial law.
